Linux System Administrator

Key Purpose of the Job:
The Technology department at BaseFX is in charge of the smooth running of the entire IT infrastructure across our global network. The System Administrator play a key part because their role entails day-today support but also project work to sustain and improve our large, primarily Linux, infrastructure. Working as a team, they provide technical support to our global infrastructure including support for our servers running NFS and CIFS as well as back-up systems. Systems Administrators also manage and maintain our large MySQ and databases.

Needs to Do:
• Responsible for servers configuration, update and maintenance;
• Responsible for switch/firewall configuration policies and plans, network management system configuration and monitoring, as well as network security verification;
• Collaborate with Pipeline Department, and provide IT support to production pipeline;
• Responsible for dealing with production departments’ system related problems;
• Responsible for debugging new software and systems for multi-system environment.
• Reporting to the IT Manager, you’ll support and work with the IT team to manage the Network and IT infrastructure across all departments Identify and solve technological issues
• Need to work in Linux system environment.

Needs to Have:
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent subject;
• Previous experience as a Systems Administrator;
• Extensive experience working with Linux systems;
• Major in Computer Science, Telecommunication or related subject;
• Familiar with Python;
• Proficient in Linux, have 2 or more years’ experience in using Linux and online system maintaining, familiar with using shell/bash;
• 3-5 years’ experience in network planning and building, have practical experiences with enterprise-level LAN designing, planning and building;
• Familiar with links and physical layer theories and rollout factors, understand IP route and exchange knowledge, main Internet protocols and protocol analysis approach, and is able to design and plan on enterprise-level LAN;
• Have ability to analyze business requirements, could be able to find out a proper solution and implement independently;
• Would be able to work on project planning, material coordinating and process controlling independently;
• Good communication skills.
